(Crain's) — Motorola Solutions Inc. President and CEO Gregory Brown saw his total compensation jump 62% in 2010, while his counterpart at Motorola Mobility Inc., Sanjay Jha, saw his pay more than triple from the previous year.
The compensation for both men, along with other executives, was detailed in a proxy report Motorola Solutions Inc. filed with Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Brown received $13.7 million in total compensation last year. In 2009 his total pay package was nearly $8.5 million. His 2010 compensation was bolstered by $5.9 million in cash and $1 million in stock awards.
Mr. Brown's base salary remained relatively flat at $900,000 and he did not receive a bonus for 2010. He and Mr. Jha elected to retain the 25% cut in base pay they first took in 2009.
Mr. Jha, chairman and CEO at Motorola Mobility, received $13 million in 2010 compensation compared with $3.7 million the previous year. His 2010 pay was boosted by nearly $10 million in stock option awards.
Mr. Jha, who was co-CEO of Motorola Inc. with Mr. Brown before the company split in January into two firms, received a $426,000 bonus in 2010. His base pay was $900,000, compared with the $905,769 he earned in 2009.
Mr. Jha did not take a $426,000 discretionary bonus available to him through Motorola Mobility or $278,000 available under the company's incentive plan, according to the SEC document.
