Barclays posts strong earnings; Diamond sees U.S. rebound accelerating
Bob Diamond, president at Barclays, is optimistic about the economic recovery in the U.S. but is concerned about Europe. "There are mixed signals, for sure, but we are at the positive end, particularly in the U.S.," Diamond said. "We see very strong signs of an accelerated recovery as 2010 goes on." Barclays reported £9.39 billion in profit for 2009.
